Ray, un neurochirurgien blasé, réfléchit à la perte de son émerveillement et de son innocence d'enfance.
Seul dans sa chambre d'hôtel, Ray craint d'avoir heurté quelqu'un avec sa voiture sur la route. Après avoir craint qu'il ne s'agisse d'un enfant, il se convainc que ce n'était qu'un raton laveur.
