Lucifer est enragé par l'injustice dont il est victime. L'enfant voit cela, et se fait une idée. Il faudrait peut-être briser le système. Lorsque Lucifer réalise que l'enfant a vu sa vérité, il essaie de cacher ses émotions.
L'enfant remet en question le rôle de tentateur de Lucifer, alors qu'il lui fait de la tentation avec une intensité croissante. Il réprimande l'enfant pour s'être plié à l'autorité. Elle se met en colère, pousse les livres de côté et sort de la cage.
On offre à l'enfant tout ce qu'il peut manger sur une table, à l'exception d'une chose. Elle demande ce que cela pourrait être et, dans une réponse kafkaïenne, on lui répond : « tu sais ».
Un livre supplie le public d'être lu. Un chœur rythmé s'élève. Un hommage aux interdits, aux brûlés et aux cachés.
L'enfant s'ennuie. Elle lit plusieurs livres pour apprendre tout ce qu'elle ne doit pas faire, dire, sentir ou voir. Lucifer lui demande simplement pourquoi, en essayant d'attirer son attention vers lui plutôt que vers les livres. Elle trouve un nom, Iblis, et se moque de lui.
