Biographie
En tant que compositeur et musicien de scène, Nick a travaillé et collaboré avec le Centre national des Arts ; École nationale de théâtre du Canada; Grande compagnie de théâtre canadienne; Théâtre Centaure ; Lucion Médias ; Théâtre de répercussion ; Théâtre Geordie ; Le Centre du Théâtre ; Théâtre Imago ; Infinithéâtre; Université Concordia; École Nationale de Cirque ; Universités McGill et Ottawa; les META (Montreal English Theatre Awards); Théâtre du Village Hudson, Théâtre Lac Brome; Troisième mur ; Théâtre Urbi et Orbi (Contes urbains) ; TF1 - Cirque Rock'n'Roll ; Monastère - Cabaret de Cirque ; et sur des productions ou des concerts du Festival pour Magnetic North, SummerWorks, Undercurrents et WildSide.
In 2020, Nick was nominated for two METAs (Montreal English Theatre Awards) for his work as a Musician and Supporting Actor. He is currently scoring a new musical: Trixie Parker Gets a Boyfriend.
Nick is also a writer. His plays, radio plays (CBC), short stories and librettos have been presented across Canada, the US and Germany. Most recently, Merk's Dream was featured in Tapestry Opera's 'Songbook X' Concert and live-streamed Spring 2020. Nick wrote the screenplay for Maz (Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma, 2018) and his play Stained Glass won the Canadian Peace Play Competition in 2008.
Nick teaches at the National Theatre School of Canada and Concordia University. He has worked as a dramaturg for PWM (Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal); NACO (National Arts Centre Orchestra) and JMC (Jeunesses Musicales Canada) where he also creates mis-en-scène for touring concerts. Nick is co-founder of Summersett (summersettband.com).
