Mélanie Léger lives in Moncton, New Brunswick, where she writes for theatre, television, and film, in addition to working as a researcher, director, and actress. Very active in the Acadian arts community, she has written more than a dozen plays that have been staged, four of which are published by Éditions Prise de parole.

A graduate of the Drama Department at the Université de Moncton, Mélanie also holds a master's degree in theatre from UQAM, and has completed the  television writing program at L’inis (the National Institute of Image and Sound).
