The submission form includes all the information of your entry, so it can be a lot of writing. While you can save and edit your entries as long as you keep the submission window open, if you leave the submission form page without saving, you may lose some of your information. We recommend reviewing the submission questions and preparing your answers in advance in a separate word document.

Do you have video, photos, or audio recordings to include with your entry? Ensure those are ready to be linked to in the submission process. Ensure you have secured any required permissions for posting the video, including from artists and creators or their agents.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION

i. Upload photos directly

1. 1. The form will accept a maximum of 8 photos
   2. The resolution must be a maximum of 1200 x 800 pixels and less than 2mb in size.

ii. Link to video/audio recordings

1. 1. Videos and audio recordings should be hosted on streaming sites like Youtube or Vimeo.

Optional: If you wish, you can submit full works, individual scenes, and/or individual arias for purchase (for limited use only).  Please note that because uploaded scores are intended for study or concert excerpt performance only, not full productions, COR accepts only piano-vocal scores for upload.  If your work is intended for instrumentation that cannot be easily converted into a piano-vocal format (eg. electronic track) and you wish to make excerpts available for purchase, please contact COR management directly to make arrangements.

When preparing your materials, ensure that your piano-vocal score and any excerpts are saved as separate files and titled clearly. Note that the title of the score will be the title that appears on the entry, so be as clear as possible. 

Eg: “Name of work – Scene I – Title of Scene” or “Name of Work – Full PV Score”

This process will include entering all writing, details of the work, creation notes, uploading or linking to media, uploading the completed agreement, and submitting all scores.

A reviewer from the COR team will look at your submission and confirm that it is eligible and complete. If they have questions they will reach out to you at the email address associated with your account.

Once your submission has been approved, it will become a searchable part of the COR database for everyone to enjoy. CONGRATULATIONS on the incredible accomplishment of WRITING AN OPERA!
