MUSIC DESCRIPTION
An exchange between an art teacher and a frustrated student is impacted and framed by their wartime context. Their understated, measured conversation is interspersed with the teacher's long, melismatic inner dialogue. A steady bass line and melodies on the Phrygian dominant scale are interrupted by tremolo chords and repetitive clusters, as the traumatic wartime conditions become more and more evident.
