SYNOPSIS
A summer evening. A writer is experiencing a bit of writer’s block as she is sitting in an outdoor cafe in an historic area of town. She looks around for inspiration and happens to see a man looking at the stars with binoculars. Clouds block his view, and when he looks around he catches her glance and smiles. Is he really there? Or is he just inspiration? Does it matter?
This short scene can be seen as either a chance encounter between two very different humans, or as a writer finding sudden inspiration in a new idea that she wouldn’t have thought was within her “palette.” Or perhaps it is a bit of both.

MUSIC DESCRIPTION
A steady quarter note is repeated throughout in the piano's upper register. This repetition, meant to represent the distant connection to a satellite, underpins a delicate and mesmerizing moment between two characters.
